GENERAL HUNTING INFORMATION
The suggested caliber for hunting on the Eslabon Ranch is the 30 caliber. It is highly recommended that rifles be equipped with a minimum 4X scope for a clean kill. We have a rifle for you to use. We suggest that you sight your rifle prior to your arrival and it is required that you check it upon arrival.
Binoculars are recommended and photography is encouraged.
The State of Texas require that you have a hunting license. You can obtain one online here: http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us. It is suggested you obtain one before you arrive. They can be obtained by mail, on line or in Carrizo Springs.
Temperatures vary from 30 in the morning to 80 in the afternoon so layering is recommended. Rubber soled boots and camouflaged clothing is encouraged.
We have a qualified taxidermist at your disposal, there are several examples of his work in the main house.
